DIY Hand-painted Wallpaper: Step-by-Step Tutorial

I’ve dubbed this project my alternative to cutting bangs during quarantine. Fortunately, this turned out much better than bangs would have! If you follow me on Instagram, a few weeks back you might’ve experienced a roller coaster of emotions with me when I decided (on a whim) to paint a pattern on my dining room wall. I actually ended up getting a lot of positive feedback on this project so I put together a DIY hand-painted wallpaper step-by-step tutorial for you to replicate this pattern in your own home!

This was inspired by some similar projects I’d seen from bloggers like Jenna from @Cozy.happy.home and her hand-painted laundry room wall. I decided to do this in my dining room to give it a little more character. You can see the changes we made to the dining room initially here.

While my project was looking like a potential mistake halfway through, the more I painted the better it started to look. So if you like how this turned out, check out the tutorial below and tag me in any of your projects– I’d love to see how they turn out!

What do you think? Should I have cut my bangs instead or is this a DIY you would try?
